The couple, who hails from Charlotte, NC and has been together three and a half years, decided to elope to one of their favorite travel destinations, New Orleans. They love to visit cities with rich histories, and New Orleans certainly doesn’t disappoint. It’s also a great place to indulge their other loves – music, coffee, champagne, and craft beer.
Judge Roland Belsome married Melissa and Ted on the balcony of the historic Soniat House Hotel in the French Quarter, which has roots going back to the 1830s. Melissa looked stunning in her beaded white gown with deep V neckline and back. Along with her cathedral-length veil, she wore a stone-encrusted floral headband. In keeping with her love of wearing dresses and high heels, Melissa added a pair of elegant and glamorous Jimmy Choo London shoes. Her bridal bouquet was made up of crimson flowers, including roses and lilies.
The wedding was handled by Brittani Adams of Unique Weddings in New Orleans. The sun shone as the wedding ceremony took place and, afterwards, the bride and groom strolled the French Quarter. As night settled on the city, the couple posed for some romantic photos on their candlelit balcony before taking off into the night in a white, horse-drawn carriage.
Their plans for the future include travel to England and Ireland, and other historical places with great architecture. When not indulging their love of traveling, Ted enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and watching movies. Melissa, who said she often finds herself spending her free time catching up on work, said Ted is wonderful about making sure she has plenty of coffee or whatever else she needs to help her along. She has found time, though, to take violin lessons.
Melissa and Ted just purchased a home and are looking forward to enjoying summer meals on their patio, and Ted, an avid Red Sox fan, is ready for baseball season. Sounds like a home run is in the future for these newlyweds.
