A bride getting ready for her elopement in New Orleans

Elopement in New Orleans

When you are a busy doctor and a busy attorney, finding the perfect match can be difficult, so you might discover online dating to be helpful. Melissa and Ted, both with demanding professional careers, decided to give Match.com a try. It makes getting acquainted easier and, if you’re really lucky, you might just find the love of your life like Melissa and Ted did when they found each other. The match led to this beautiful Elopement in New Orleans
The couple, who hails from Charlotte, NC and has been together three and a half years, decided to elope to one of their favorite travel destinations, New Orleans. They love to visit cities with rich histories, and New Orleans certainly doesn’t disappoint. It’s also a great place to indulge their other loves – music, coffee, champagne, and craft beer.
Judge Roland Belsome married Melissa and Ted on the balcony of the historic Soniat House Hotel in the French Quarter, which has roots going back to the 1830s. Melissa looked stunning in her beaded white gown with deep V neckline and back. Along with her cathedral-length veil, she wore a stone-encrusted floral headband. In keeping with her love of wearing dresses and high heels, Melissa added a pair of elegant and glamorous Jimmy Choo London shoes. Her bridal bouquet was made up of crimson flowers, including roses and lilies.
The wedding was handled by Brittani Adams of Unique Weddings in New Orleans. The sun shone as the wedding ceremony took place and, afterwards, the bride and groom strolled the French Quarter. As night settled on the city, the couple posed for some romantic photos on their candlelit balcony before taking off into the night in a white, horse-drawn carriage.
Their plans for the future include travel to England and Ireland, and other historical places with great architecture. When not indulging their love of traveling, Ted enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and watching movies. Melissa, who said she often finds herself spending her free time catching up on work, said Ted is wonderful about making sure she has plenty of coffee or whatever else she needs to help her along. She has found time, though, to take violin lessons.
Melissa and Ted just purchased a home and are looking forward to enjoying summer meals on their patio, and Ted, an avid Red Sox fan, is ready for baseball season. Sounds like a home run is in the future for these newlyweds.

Making a dream come true doesn’t have to involve planning and years of hard work. Sometimes, all it takes is a walk in the park. At least that’s all it took for Mim and Justin to make their dream of being husband and wife come true. They chose to get married in New Orleans’ City Park where the roots of the grand oaks go back 800 years. This lush setting was the perfect place for their casual ceremony.
With Mother Nature as their witness, Mim, wearing an off-the-shoulder white gown and a wreath of flowers in her hair, looked like a fairy as she and Justin said I do under one of the parks big oak trees that shaded them with a canopy of green leaves and gray Spanish moss. And who knows if they might not have been standing on the very spot where a gentlemanly duel took place in the 1800s over the love of a woman.
As the breeze blew and the palms swayed, the bride and groom took a romantic stroll across some of the parks 1,300 acres, stopping here and there to share some special moments. A large stand of moss-covered oaks and one of the parks many lagoons presented the perfect backdrop for Mim and Justin to reflect on the adventure of their new life together as husband and wife. This setting captured the essence of New Orleans and their City Park elopement. As the night settled in, the park began to glow with thousands of lights, but none could compare to the glow surrounding Mim and Justin in each other’s arms on this special day.

Katie and Ryan chose to elope in New Orleans, and although there are many great hotels and other venues where a couple might get married, they decided that a whimsical decision required a whimsical setting. New Orleans is a magical city, and if downtown is its pulse, then its heart, and one of its most magical and whimsical settings, is City Park. Once the site of Allard Plantation, this 1,300 acre park, more than 150 years old, is one of the largest urban parks in the world. If you want to be lost in love, there’s no better place than in this historical park.
Katie and Ryan traveled from Minneapolis to be married amid the grand old, moss-draped oaks of this magnificent park that boasts millions of visitors a year. If you’re a nature-lover, this is the place to be, with English ivy crawling up walls, and masses of hostas and ferns thriving amid the shade of these great oaks.
Katie looked like the consummate modern bride in her lovely two-piece, lace top and skirt bridal ensemble. She carried a bouquet of white flowers with two large pink roses as accents. With the sun streaming through the grand oaks, whose roots date back 800 years, Katie and Ryan said I do, and then spent some time strolling through the park. To celebrate the whimsy of their City Park elopement, they might take a spin on the over 100-year-old wooden carousel, referred to as the “flying horses,” to celebrate their new life together that has just taken flight.

Azadeh & Luke – New Orleans Elopement

Azadeh & Luke – New Orleans Elopement

New Orleans ElopementAzadeh and Luke are such a fun pair. These guys came all the way from Canada for their New Orleans Elopement. Instead of throwing a huge wedding with tons of guests, they took a trip down to New Orleans with just the two of them. I think this type of wedding can be such a great idea if you are looking for something quick and intimate. On top of having an awesome vacation alone together (the best kind of quality time), they got married in the intimacy of the courthouse. Their ceremony was an emotional and happy one, with tears and hugs. It was simple, tasteful and truly romantic.

After the ceremony, we strolled the French Quarter to get some shots of the happy couple in their “just married” glow. Unlike the majority of visitors to the French Quarter, Azadeh and Luke have an affinity for downtown in the early morning. The weather was perfect on this day, with bright blue skies and cool crisp fall weather.
Congratulations to Azadeh and Luke! I wish you a lifetime of happiness.

Elopement in New Orleans – Ashlyn & Doug

Elopement in New Orleans – Ashlyn & Doug

Elopement in New OrleansAshlyn and Doug are a unique pair. They did not conform to wedding conventions in almost any way, which is something that keeps my job all the more fun and interesting. They had an awesome time celebrating their love and commitment to each other with a New Orleans Elopement. Their ceremony was short and sweet, as they said their vows in front of the St. Louis Cathedral. They really inserted their own personalities into their wedding. Some of the details that separate this pair from your typical bride and groom were Ashlyn’s bright red dress with black beaded embroidery and Doug’s bandana. We went into a cemetery to get some portraits, which was like being inside of a gothic novel with a romantic twist. We perused sights and scenes throughout the French Quarter and had an awesome time getting some portraits that Ashlyn and Doug will have to remember their special day by. All in all, I love their style and I love their attitude. These guys were definitely made for each other.
Congrats, Ashlyn and Doug!
