City Park Elopement
Making a dream come true doesn’t have to involve planning and years of hard work. Sometimes, all it takes is a walk in the park. At least that’s all it took for Mim and Justin to make their dream of being husband and wife come true. They chose to get married in New Orleans’ City Park where the roots of the grand oaks go back 800 years. This lush setting was the perfect place for their casual ceremony.
With Mother Nature as their witness, Mim, wearing an off-the-shoulder white gown and a wreath of flowers in her hair, looked like a fairy as she and Justin said I do under one of the parks big oak trees that shaded them with a canopy of green leaves and gray Spanish moss. And who knows if they might not have been standing on the very spot where a gentlemanly duel took place in the 1800s over the love of a woman.
As the breeze blew and the palms swayed, the bride and groom took a romantic stroll across some of the parks 1,300 acres, stopping here and there to share some special moments. A large stand of moss-covered oaks and one of the parks many lagoons presented the perfect backdrop for Mim and Justin to reflect on the adventure of their new life together as husband and wife. This setting captured the essence of New Orleans and their City Park elopement. As the night settled in, the park began to glow with thousands of lights, but none could compare to the glow surrounding Mim and Justin in each other’s arms on this special day.
