The Ceremony: The Chicory Wedding Venue
The Chicory wedding Venue on South Peters hosted a beautiful wedding for Danielle and Kaleb in March. The ceremony took place in the Parlor Room which was illuminated with a neutrally grand blend of colors. The ring-bearers announced the brides astonishing walk down the isle with a sign “Here Comes the Bride.” The bride made her way down a candle lit isle accented in gold to her awaiting groom. The pure colors went together humbly with the tan brick and wood, giving the ceremony a very warm feel. The bridesmaids wore royal blue for this royal wedding, each caressing beautiful bouquets of flowers.
The Reception: The Chicory Wedding Venue
After the marriage Danielle and Kaleb’s wedding went out with a bang! They celebrated their marriage afterwords with a New Orleans style party from South Peters the way to Fulton Alley. The brass band started a party and getting to experience a second line showed some of the Texas couple’s friends and family an awesome part of the culture of New Orleans. The brass band escorted the party through the French Quarter playing traditional New Orleans sounds. With masks, beads, partying and a whole bunch of music, the second line celebrated through the French Quarter, full of smiles, fun and good music!

Ceremony: Southern Oaks Wedding
When I think of a Southern Oaks wedding, I think how of majestic oaks and tall Greek Ionic style columns of Southern Oaks Plantation, where creating magic is an everyday occurrence, Sarah and Ronald said “I do” on the great mansion’s steps under a starlit sky. Before the ceremony, Sarah’s mother and her maid of honor helped her with the jewelry she’d chosen for her special day to accent the elegant lace, trumpet-style gown she was wearing. Its deep V-back, delicate buttons, and beading at the waist were a show-stopper on the already lovely bride. Sarah also shared a few precious minutes with her father who had difficulty containing his pride as he held his daughter in his arms. Ronald had some help of his own from his best man before presenting himself on the grand porch of the plantation to await his bride’s arrival.
When it was time for that important walk up the aisle, the bride and her father made their way up the candlelit sidewalk adorned with rose petals and lined with twinkling shrubs. At the end of the ceremony, when Ronald finally heard those longed-for words, “You may kiss your bride,” fireworks went off, literally, making a memorial moment even more memorable.
Reception: Southern Oaks Plantation Wedding
At the reception, Sarah and Ronald hammed it up for their guests with a bit of cake-in-your-face fun. Later, under a canopy of Spanish moss, the couple had some private time to soak in the ambiance of the plantation’s garden with the fountain as their background music. The torches were burning brightly when one of the plantation’s stable guests decided to make an appearance in one of the wedding photos, giving the bride and groom even more to smile about as they began their new life together.

One could absolutely “Marvel” at Bianca and Abdul’s wedding, because it was surely on another level!
The Ceremony: The Balcony wedding
The Balcony Ballroom premiered a beautiful Arabic and Spanish wedding. The bride looked stunning with mesmerizing jewelry and exuberantly displayed floral patterns in Henna to symbolize her beauty. The groom took action with Batman socks to represent the couple’s love for gaming and movies. The groomsmen sported other superheroes as Abdul’s sidekicks for the occasion. The groom wore a cool midnight blue tuxedo, looking as sophisticated as the “Dark Knight.” The ceremony was purely elegant, the bride making her away across cool diamond tiled marble floors. The white and gold touches of the spacious room gave the ceremony a grand feel to it. From the high ceilings of the ballroom hung chandeliers that glowed versions of light and dark golds. Even with the vastness of the room, the groom could only focus his eyes on one thing, and that was his bride.
The Venue: The Balcony Ballroom
After the ceremony the couple celebrated their wedding with family and friends, using the ballroom’s spaciousness to dance til “Breaking Dawn”!. The families danced together, holding hands and celebrating the young love with many smiles and an abundance of laughter and joy.

Jenny and Derek had one of the most spectacular, original, fun and fantastic weddings I’ve ever been to. Everything about the way they planned their wedding exemplifies the quirkiness of their relationship. They planned the wedding for October 31st (Halloween). Among other reasons, they made the choice to hold their ceremony on All Hallows Eve because they met five years ago at a Halloween party. It just goes to show that no matter how long a couple has been together, the very beginning of the relationship will always be among the most sentimental and important of memories.
The Ceremony | Reception: The Chicory wedding Venue
The ceremony was held at The Chicory in the historic warehouse district right here in New Orleans, LA. The Chicory is an edgy venue, with exposed brick walls and old-school gas lanterns. It boasts a long history; it was built in 1852 as a coffee-manufacturing warehouse.
Jenny looked stunning in a sequin and lace embellished gown, and Derek, (gotta love the guy) was just as stunning, dressed as Vanilla Ice. Guests entered in extravagant costumes, which filled the room with an exciting and often hilarious energy. The reception kicked off to the sound of one of New Orleans best bands, The Mixed Nuts. The entertainment did not stop there however, as Jenny and Derek were more than ready to perform a choreographed first dance, much to the guests delight.
Entertainment: The Mixed Nuts band and The 610 Stompers
Also in attendance were the famous 610 Stompers, an all-male dance troop based out of New Orleans, who are unbelievably talented dancers ( There moto is: Ordinary men with Extraordinary moves). Needless to say, this wedding was incredibly entertaining and jam-packed with spectacle. The event was coordinated by Sapphire Events, who did a fabulous job making sure every part of the big day went as smoothly as possible.
There are literally so many cool details involved in this event that I can’t even name them all. From the amazing pit-bull-shaped Groom’s Cake, to the second line that finished off the big night, Jenny and Derek sure know how to throw a good party.
This was surely a New Orleans good time.
Congratulations to you, Jenny and Derek! I wish you a lifetime of Halloween Costumes!

Bride Prep/Groom Prep: French Quarter New Orleans
Robbie and Matt are the kind of couple I think everyone aspires to be like. They’re fun, laid back, know how to have a good time, but most of all, you can really tell how much they love each other. Matt proposed to Robbie in March of 2014 in the mountains of Colorado, at the “highest elevation fine-dining restaurant in America,” reachable exclusively by snow-coach. Their engagement was nothing short of extravagant and their wedding was equally as tasteful.
Southern Oaks Wedding
With eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen, Robbie and Matt had a serious entourage on their big day. The bridesmaids wore gorgeous turquoise dresses and the groomsmen kept it simple and classy with black tuxes and black ties. Their wedding took place at Southern Oaks Plantation, which is truly one of the most beautiful venues I’ve seen. The ceremony was outside after the sun went down. Lit by sparkling Christmas lights and glowing lanterns, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and picturesque. The evening was made even more idyllic with a New Orleans brass band and a horse drawn chariot. What more could you want in a wedding? This was like a fairy tale. The reception was no less exciting, the perfect night for the perfect day. I think I saw some of the craziest dance moves of my life that night.
Congratulations Robbie and Matt! You two are the best!

Susan and Ryan are among the multitude of awesome people who chose to travel to New Orleans for their wedding ceremony. New Orleans is a city that is known all over the world for being exceptionally romantic. With its complex history, it’s gorgeous and unique architecture, and its never-ending myriad of fun things to do and see, New Orleans is the perfect place for a destination wedding. Not only is it a romantic and fun place to travel as a couple, it’s also great fun for all of the wedding guests who have come from all parts of the country and world. Susan and Ryan came to us all the way from Cincinnati, Ohio and it was well worth it. Once Susan and Ryan say the venue, they knew the wanted to have a Maison Dupuy wedding
The Ceremony: Maison Dupuy wedding
Their ceremony was jam-packed with beauty and romance. It was held at the Maison Dupuy, one of New Orleans most beautiful hotels. The Maison Dupuy is located in the heart of the French Quarter, just blocks from Bourbon Street. Though the building has been around for much longer, the Maison Dupuy became a hotel in the 1970s, by adjoining five townhouses and their respective courtyards to create what is now one of the most luxurious hotels in the historic Vieux Carre district of New Orleans.
One of the many highlights from Susan and Ryan’s big day was Ryan’s expression as Susan walked down the aisle. This moment was filled with emotion and left everyone in awe.
The Reception: Maison Dupuy Hotel French Quarter New Orleans
The reception following the ceremony was classy and fun, with dancing, drinks and laughter. I was able to steal away with the newly weds for a little bit right after the reception so that we could get some portraits in the courtyard. With the use of lighting in the evening sky, we were able to capture truly romantic portraits of these lovebirds in the rain.
Thank you so much Susan and Ryan for a lovely evening. I wish you all the best in the years to come! Cheers!
