New Orleans Engagement Session | Downtown Nola
I was particularly excited when I photographed Jenny and Derek’s Engagement Session because I had two extra subjects to work into their photos: their two dogs. The four of them are a real cute family, to say the least. We went to the park with the dogs who were great helpers in finding the best spots to stop and take some photos.
Jenny and Derek are a venturesome couple; they’re intrigued by trying new things and thinking outside of the box. In order to add a little twist of magic and mystery to their wedding day, they scheduled it for Halloween, which I think is a great idea! After taking the dogs to the park, we ventured into downtown New Orleans and took some photos at dusk. These images really communicate the romance between them. As we perused the magical streets of the French Quarter we had a great time popping in and out of whatever location enticed us, including a bar that served absinthe!
We had so much fun working with Jenny and Derek on this New Orleans engagement session. I wish you the best of luck Jenny and Derek! May your future be just as adventuresome as your trip to the Big Easy!

New Orleans Engagement Session | Royal Street
Evangeline and Josey are such an awesome pair! They came to New Orleans from Calgary, Canada. In general they don’t consider themselves to be “city people,” but like to travel to cool places (like New Orleans) and consider it a special occasion when they do. These guys are such a special couple because they have more history together than probably any other couple I’ve photographed. Originally from a small town in Canada (the place they consider “home”) Josey and Evangeline met when they were basically kids in middle school. Even then as adolescents they had “a thing” for one another. They even “dated” for a short time back in those days (if you can even call it that, as Evangeline says). Many years following middle school, they began another romantic relationship after they reconnected at a mutual friend’s wedding. Because their hometown is so small, their families knew each other more or less all along. Now that they’re engaged, their families feel that the connection was kismet.
For their New Orleans Engagement session we strolled through the French Quarter and utilized every opportunity we could to imbue their photographs with an authentic New Orleans style. These guys are so sweet and genuine it was easy to catch their spark on camera.
Thanks for coming all the way to New Orleans Josey and Evangeline! All the best to you and your family!

The Engagement
Lizzie and Paul are one of the coolest couples I’ve worked with. Their engagement story is a little unconventional, which is something I can appreciate. Lizzie is a progressive lady. Her and Paul did not feel compelled to follow the standard tradition when it comes to the guy proposing down on one knee. Instead of letting the future-groom decide when the right time to get engaged would be, they had a conversation about it, and decided to skip the engagement ring and buy a new Jeep for them both instead!

Moreover, I really enjoyed getting to know them as a couple. Shooting their engagement photos was a breeze because they are so easy to get along with and they definitely know how to enjoy life together. They told me all about projects they’re working on together like repurposing old furniture for their house, cooking and wood working.
Thank you for such a great time Lizzie and Paul and thanks for allowing to photograph this beautiful New Orleans Engagement session! Congrats guys and I cannot wait until the wedding. The wedding will take place in a few months at the gorgeous The Columns Hotel located on Saint Charles Avenue just 5 minutes from the French Quarter.

When I shot engagement photos of Kortney and Adam, I really got the sense that I was in the midst of a crazy-in-love pair. The way they get along is electric, and I could tell by the way they look at each other that they are and will continue to be so happy together. Needless to say, this made my job easy. It was a City Park engagement session, which was the perfect place to relax with a chilled bottle of champagne and toast to the future. As the sun got lower and lower in the sky, the trees began to glow all around, painting Kortney and Adam in golden light. We finished off the session in the moonlight, in front of the Peristyle at City Park. It was a gorgeous evening with these love-birds.
Cheers to you Kortney and Adam! May the champagne flow for years to come!
